"Iranian students have found a new and innovative way to express their disenchantment against the oppressive rule of the Mullahs. They’ve used protests, boycotts and sit-ins, but now they have turned to a different type of warfare, the water gun fight."

The Persian Queen Atossa:

Atossa was an Achaemenid queen and daughter of Cyrus the Great and his wife, Cassandane. She lived from 550 BC to 475 BC and probably was a sister (or half-sister) of the Persian king Cambyses II.

Atossa married Darius the Great (Darius I) during 522 BC after Darius I, with the help of the nobleman Otanes, defeated the followers of a man claiming to be Bardiya(Smerdis), the younger brother of Cambyses II.

Atossa, had a “great authority” in the Achaemenian royal house and her marriage with Darius I is suggested to be because of her power and influence and also the fact that she was a direct descendent of Cyrus the Great (Cyrus II).

Xerxes I was the eldest son of Atossa and Darius.

Atossa probably means a shapely or slim woman.

"You cannot be buried in obscurity: you are exposed upon a grand theater to the view of the world. If your actions are upright and benevolent, be assured they will augment your power and happiness."
Cyrus the Great (c. 600 - 529 BC)

"I am Cyrus, king of the world, great king, mighty king, king of Babylon, king of Sumer and Akkad, king of the four quarters, the son of Cambyses, great king, king of Anšan, grandson of Cyrus, great king, king of Anšan, descendant of Teispes, great king, king of Anšan, of an eternal line of kingship, whose rule Bêl and Nabu love, whose kingship they desire fot their hearts' pleasure. When I entered Babylon in a peaceful manner, I took up my lordly abode in the royal palace amidst rejoicing and happiness. Marduk, the great lord, established as his fate for me a magnanimous heart of one who loves Babylon, and I daily attended to his worship."

Cyrus the Great (c. 600 - 529 BC)
